IN LOVING MEMORY

Cynthia Ann Hansen

May 11 1962 - Jan 08 2017

Cynthia Ann Hansen, age 54, of Rowlett, Texas passed away on January 8, 2017 in Rockwall, TX at Rockwall Nursing Care Center due to complications of early onset Alzheimer. Cindy is the eldest child of Kathy Overby Lindblad and the late Paul Lindblad; born in Chanute, KS on May 11, 1962.  Her family travelled a lot due to her father’s career and eventually settled in Arlington, TX.  In 1985, Cindy started a family of her own, having had three children; Sara, Jonathan, and David.  Cindy was always putting her children first and was a great mom.  In 2004, Cindy decided to go to college and in 2006 earned a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. She worked for Dentists4Kids.com and designed pediatric dentist web sites.  By 2007, Cindy met the love of her life and married on August 30, 2008 to Jeffrey Hansen in Rockwall, TX and relocated to Rowlett, TX.  Cindy was always the life of the party and never met a stranger.  She had a warm personality, a smile that could melt your heart, and an infectious laugh. Cindy always was up for a challenge trying new things.  She played in over 40 soccer leagues, took on lots of home remodeling projects, and took up motorcycling with her husband and other friends. Always giving of herself for the benefit of others, Cindy continued her tradition even after death by donating herself to the Willed Body Program at UT Southwestern for Alzheimer’s research so that someday a cure can be found to others with this disease.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Jeff of Rowlett, TX; mother, Kathy; sister, Paula; brother, Troy; children, Sara, Jon, and David; son-in-law, Adam; granddaughter, Lynn. Cindy’s in-laws include Gary and Janice Hansen; brother-in-law, Kirt; sisters-in-law, Shannon and Kim and her husband, Kardel along with a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Cindy is already greatly missed by all who knew her.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Paul Lindblad.

A special thanks goes out to Gary and Janice Hansen, Kathy West, Natalie Martinez and Dr. Mary Quiceno at UT Southwestern, the staff’s at Friends Place, Victoria Gardens of Frisco, Rockwall Nursing Care Center, and CarePath Hospice for Cindy’s care these last two years.

A Memorial Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, TX  75033, on Sunday February 5, 2017 beginning at 1:00 pm with Rev Tom Hadley officiating.
