Curtis Jon Spagnolo of McKinney, Texas, passed away on November 7, 2021, at the age of 58. He was born on December 4, 1962, to Louis John Spagnolo and Helen Marie (Coe) Spagnolo in Des Moines, Iowa. Curtis grew up in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1981, he graduated from St. Regis High School in Cedar Rapids. He would then attend Iowa State University and receive a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Later, he earned a Master of Science in Finance and completed all PhD level coursework in Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). Curtis married Marcia Kay Fletcher on September 26, 2008.

In 1984, Curtis moved to Dallas to pursue a career in aerospace at Rockwell International. After 15 years at Rockwell, he worked independently for 8 years as a day trader. Later, Curtis led mergers and acquisitions as part of EBB Group.  He worked for the last 3 years as a staff engineer at Lockheed Martin, Missiles and Fire Control.  Curtis was sought after for his brilliant financial and technical mind and always had many ongoing ventures.

Curtis loved spending time with his family, especially on the water, whether at the beach, on a lake, or at his pool. He loved to water ski, boat, kayak, and fish. He enjoyed many adventurous travels in the country and abroad. He was an avid fitness enthusiast and an incredible craftsman, having designed and built a timber beam cabin in Oklahoma. There was little Curtis could not do. Above all else, Curtis loved God and loved sharing his faith with everyone. He was a member of Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen, Texas.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Marcia Spagnolo of McKinney, Texas; his children, Alexandra Spagnolo of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Austin Spagnolo of SeaTac, Washington; Colby Schaefer and wife, Bernadette of Allen, Texas; Amanda Schaefer of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Helen Murphy of Des Moines, Iowa; his sisters and brother, Tonia Nesbitt of Des Moines, Iowa; Frank Spagnolo and wife, Linda of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Linda Zern and husband, Ron of Plano, Texas; Jeannette Forslund and husband, Phil of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; the mother of his children, Susan Spagnolo Vaughn of Southlake, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Louis John Spagnolo.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
