Spike lived life to the fullest with a positive and powerful energy matched by few. Nothing daunted him. A life force within Spike drew people to him. He engaged them with his stories, wit and conversation. His life experiences gave him the ability to speak on a number of subjects. At the center, was his calm and patient presence. He loved being a firefighter, a love he carried with him throughout his lifetime.
His absence will be difficult for all those who love him. If you think of him as he lived, recall him at his best and you will find it impossible to hold back a smile. Even though Spike is no longer with us, his gifts will be those memories and they will bring peace.
