Corinne Ann Zappolo of Allen, Texas formerly of Plano, Texas passed away August 25, 2021 at the age of 90. She was born on March 10, 1931 to Carl Colombi and Lucille (Lucas) Colombi in Cleveland, Ohio. Corinne married Philip Zappolo on July 2, 1949 in Cleveland and they enjoyed nearly 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2018. She was a family partner in founding and operating The Original Pancake House in the DFW area. Corinne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Corinne will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Rick Zappolo and wife, Dolly of Fairview, Texas and Ron Zappolo and wife, Nastassja of Denver, Colorado; sisters, Vicki Voss of Bradenton, Florida and Tony Yochim of Gatesville, Texas; grandsons, Al Lyell of McKinney, Texas, Chris Zappolo of South Riding, Virginia, Phil Zappolo, Karl Zappolo, and Spencer Zappolo, all of Denver, Colorado, granddaughters, Varinia Herrera of Allen, Texas, Chimene Witzke of McKinney, Texas, Kristin Zappolo and Karisa Zappolo of Denver, Colorado; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other loving family and friends.
Corinne was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Zappolo and parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
