Cordell Ranna Ford

Cordell Ranna Ford of Plano, Texas passed away on June 3, 2019 at the age of 80.  He was born on July 22, 1938 to George Ford, Jr. and Naomi (Powell) Ford in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Cordell attended Xavier Prep High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 20 years. During his time of service, Cordell received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation with Gallantry Cross, the Navy Unit Commendation, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, (5) Good Conduct Medal, the 45 Caliber Pistol Sharpshooter, the 45 Caliber Pistol Marksman and the Battle Efficiency Excellence “E” Ribbon.  He was of the Christian faith. 

Cordell is survived by his daughter, Martha M. Maxwell; step-daughter, Velma Jean Mullen; grandchildren, Cordell Maxwell, Terrenika Maxwell, William Bertran Holloway and Cynthia M. Holloway; great-grandchildren, Zymiah Maxwell, Jalen Maxwell, Kaiden Maxwell and Liana Turner; sister, Don V. Ford; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Lloyd Ford, Aubrey Ford and George Ford, III.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, 1808 W. Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, Texas 75232.  Interment with military honors will follow at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
