IN LOVING MEMORY

Connor Tait Cruse

Oct 02 2000 - Jul 10 2009

Connor Tait Cruse, born October 2, 2000 in Dallas, went home to live with his Heavenly Father July 10, 2009 after a courageous, four-year battle with neuroblastoma cancer and a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Connor is survived by his parents Tait and Joy Cruse; sister Mackenzie; brothers Carson and Mason of Frisco, Texas; and maternal grandparents Jerry and Joyce Vilhauer of Stigler, Oklahoma as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Connor was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Robert Burton “Burt” Cruse and Beverly Newby Cruse. Connor recently completed second grade at Prestonwood Christian Academy where he was adored by students, teachers and staff. Over the past four years, Connor endured more than 220 nights in the hospital, more than 40 blood transfusions, two-dozen platelet transfusions, 25 rounds of chemo, 14 surgeries, two bone marrow transplants and countless procedures in Dallas, Boston, New York, Houston and Guatemala. Yet he didn’t complain. He was a fighter to the very end. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to TeamConnor, a non-profit organization created to support families, raise awareness, and find a cure for childhood cancer. More information on Connor's journey and Team Connor can be found at www.teamconnor.org. Family visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, July 13 in the Fireside Room at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Park & Midway Road in Plano. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14 in the worship center at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
