Connie Seitz of McKinney, Texas passed away November 15, 2024 at the age of 72. She was born to Cleatus Eddie and Edith Odessa (Turner) Allen on February 25, 1952 in Lufkin, Texas. Connie married James Walton Seitz on June 20, 1970 in Lufkin, Texas. After living abroad, in Iran and Singapore, in the 1970’s, Connie and her husband lived in Mandeville, Louisiana for over 30 years prior to moving to McKinney, Texas in 2017.
Her faith in God was at the forefront of everything she did. She regularly attended church and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington, Louisiana. She was also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Covington and the Beau Chene Garden Club where she volunteered for many charitable events through these organizations.
Connie was a licensed Interior Designer and long time member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She was published in numerous national and regional magazines for her work such as Southern Home, Country French and Inside Northside. Connie had a vast knowledge and love for antiques. She traveled to France for many years to import antiques for her clients and for her design studio and retail space, Atelier, in downtown Covington.
In 2017, Connie and her husband, Jim, retired to McKinney, Texas to be close to family. She belonged to the Stonebriar Community Church Bible Study group in Frisco, Texas. She also was a member of the Women’s Power in Numbers charity.
In 2020, Connie was diagnosed with stage IV, EGFR-20, non-smokers lung cancer and ultimately passed due to complications of her cancer. Connie was a kind and giving woman and will be missed by many.
Connie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim Seitz of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Cristin Kiburz and husband, John of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter, Celeste Seitz and husband, Frank Pickrell of McKinney, Texas; granddaughters, Addison and Katie Kiburz of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandson, Pierce Davis of Frisco, Texas; granddaughter, Olivia Davis of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Collin Bonner of McKinney, Texas; and brother, Larry Alford and wife, Becky of Wimberly, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleatus and Odessa Allen.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
