Colby Carter Sindelar

Sep 16 1972 - May 02 2006

Colby’s earthly journey ended on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, when he was lifted up into God’s loving arms. He will be missed like crazy by his family and friends, but he has found peace and contentment with the Lord, and for that we are forever grateful. Colby was born on September 16, 1972, in Omaha, Nebraska, but lived most of his life in and around Plano and San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his mother Bonnie Sindelar and husband Rusty Fenske of Plano; father Wayne Sindelar and wife Carol of San Antonio; brothers Collin of St. Louis, MO and Jordan of Plano; sister Amanda of Phoenix, AZ; step-brothers Joey Tavery of Atlanta, GA and Stephan Tavery of San Antonio, TX; nephew Hunter Sindelar of St. Louis, MO; step-grandmother Peggy Loeffler of San Antonio and numerous loving relatives and friends. He was a beautiful, outgoing, friendly, charismatic guy who always had a lot of friends. From the time he was small he loved sports and was very good in baseball, basketball and swimming – but his greatest love was hockey. He played both ice and in-line hockey most of his adult life. He was sort of a “jack-of-all-trades” until he found his niche and became a tattoo artist around 1992 and became a walking advertisement for his trade. Colby was passionate about many things – animals, kids, collecting Star Wars memorabilia, tattooing, music, movies, shopping, clothes, his family, hockey, food and having fun. Rest in peace with the angels, Colby Carter. You will be in our hearts and memories forever – until we meet again. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Mr. Patrick Archibald officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to any alcohol or drug treatment facility of your choice.
