IN LOVING MEMORY

Clyde William Newby

Feb 09 1929 - Nov 26 2018

Clyde was born the middle child of three on a cold February 9, 1929.  He was born in Sanger, Texas to Clyde Alton Newby and Willie May Newby.  The night before Clyde’s birth their home burned to the ground.  Even though his life had a stormy beginning, God had a plan.   He said his mother was the spiritual backbone of the family and took Clyde, his sister, Pauline, and brother Jim to church as much as possible. Clyde was saved in a tent revival, along with his brother, at the age of 13.  He never doubted his salvation.  Clyde began helping in Sunday school at a young age.  He and his sister felt called into ministry and entered the Bible Baptist Seminary of Fort Worth as very young adults where Clyde majored in Music.  After graduation, he married his hometown sweetheart, Mae Ann Newby and they soon moved to North Carolina to help with a church there.  This was where his first son, Curtis was born and where the Lord called him to preach “The Wonderful Word of the Lord Jesus Christ”.  Since that time Clyde has pastored and worked in various churches for over 40 years, primarily in the Dallas area.   After Mae Ann died at the age of 52 from cancer, God blessed him with a second Godly wife, Alyse Mareta Newby. After Mareta passed away in 2015, Clyde moved to a Brookdale Community where he was called to preach for another three years.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Ann Newby and wife, Alyce Mareta Newby.  He was also preceded by his baby daughter, Clarissa Ann Newby, parents, sister, Pauline Robbins, brother, Jim Newby, and with many other precious family and friends who had gone to Heaven before him.

Surviving family are his three children, Curtis Newby (Thomasine) of Tyler, Texas; Katherine Tidwell (Ed) of Richardson, Texas; and Ronald Newby (Janice) of Orlando, Florida.  Clyde would tell anyone who would listen how proud he was of his children.  He is also survived by three step-children; David Lovell of Corinth, Texas; Mike Lovell of Keller, Texas; and Alycia Lovell of Palestine, Texas.  Additional survivors are:  6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many other cherished relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.

Celebrate with us the life of a Godly Servant!
