Clyde Homer "C.H." Chapman

Clyde Homer “C.H.” Chapman, age 69, died on Friday, February 17, 2012 at his home in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  Mr. Chapman was born January 29, 1943, in Louisa, Kentucky.  He married Judith Raye Leonard on February 1, 1963, in Shawneetown, Illinois.  He and his family resided in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, relocating to Texas in 1979 and lived in Lake Charles for the past ten years.  Mr. Chapman was a Sgt., driving for the Company Commander in the United States Army with twelve years of service.  In 1998, he semi-retired at which time he enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling between Texas, Louisiana, and Arizona.

 Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Judy of Lake Charles, Louisiana; children, Julaine Piatt and husband, Eric also of Lake Charles and Ty Chapman and wife, Sandra of Anna, Texas; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Overfield of Van Alstyne, Texas; aunt, Christine VanHoose of McKinney, Texas; nephew, Dean Grauman; niece, Amber Welch; four great-nephews; one great-niece; and several cousins.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Wauleka Chapman and brother, James “Jimmy” Chapman.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Forest Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.  The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
