IN LOVING MEMORY

Clifford "Clif" Elliott Cumbie

Nov 30 1951 - May 25 2025

Clifford "Clif" Elliot Cumbie, a devoted husband, beloved son, and avid outdoorsman, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at the age of 73.

Clif was born on November 30, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to Clyde Elwyn Cumbie and Joan (Kreier) Cumbie. Raised with strong family values and a deep appreciation for hard work, Clif graduated from Dallas Christian, where he built lasting friendships and a strong foundation for life.

After high school, Clif met the love of his life, Vonda Zamora. They were married on May 19, 1990, in the beautiful setting of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands—an adventure that marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and mutual support.

Clif worked alongside his family in the carpeting business, dedicating years of skill and service to the trade. He took pride in continuing the family legacy, always bringing integrity and craftsmanship to his work.

Beyond his professional life, Clif was a passionate outdoorsman. He found great joy in the quiet stillness of a morning hunt and the peaceful rhythm of fishing. The woods and waters were places where he felt most at home, often sharing those experiences with friends and family.

Clif is survived by his wife, Vonda Cumbie of Rowlett, Texas; daughter, Lindsey Cumbie of Dallas, Texas; son, Dillon Cumbie of Rowlett, Texas; sister, Cindy Richardson and husband Ernie of Plano, Texas; brother, Clyde Cumbie, Jr and wife Linda of Springdale, Arkansas, and a host of other living family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Joan Cumbie.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Preston Crest Church of Christ, 6022 Preston Crest Lane, Dallas, Texas 75230.
