Former Norman resident Clarice Ann (Flower) Christ, 88, of Sherman, Texas, passed away quietly on October 1, 2026. Born in Blue Rapids, Kansas, on August 28, 1938, Clarice was the daughter of George F. and Angeline A. (Novak) Flower. When Clarice was seven, the family moved to Belleville, Kansas, where her father worked for the county as an assistant deputy and custodian for the Republic County Courthouse before getting a job with the Rock Island Railroad.
Clarice attended Belleville Public Schools beginning in second grade. On graduation in 1957, she enrolled in Brown-Mackie Business School in Salina, Kansas. While there, she met a dashing young airman named Keith Christ, who stationed at Schilling Air Force Base. The pair eloped weeks later and were married for 50 years. Over those 50 years, they had four children, six dogs, two cats, nine moves to new assignments (including two remote tours and one assignment to Wheelus Air Force Base in Tripoli, Libya), one home they bought, one home they built, and more joy than can be quantitated.
After Keith retired from the Air Force, Clarice joined him in his new career as a real estate agent. Together, the two listed and sold at least half of Eastern Oklahoma County (rumor has it.) After Clarice retired from real estate, she devoted her time to crafting and attending craft shows to sell her wares. Her other interests included making quilts and pillows for unhoused people, baking bread, and being “Mama C” at the hangout house, where every friend of her kids was welcome.
Friends and family spread over the world will miss her generosity, warmth, and humor. Her zest for life was evident in everything she did.
Clarice is survived by her daughter, Belinda Christ of Moore, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Leslie Brunkhurst-Chisum and her partner, Lisa Bishop of Durant, Oklahoma; grandson, Bart Brunkhurst, wife Rachael, and great-grandchildren, Charlie, Keith, and Elaine of Whitesboro, Texas; grandson, Kerry Hickman of Phoenix, Arizona; granddaughter, Stephanie (Hickman) Sawyer, husband Cameron, and great-grandson, Jamison, of Hamburg, Germany; and son-in-law, Jimmy Chisum of Whitesboro, Texas.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, George and Angie Flower, her brother John Flower, her husband Keith Christ, her son Leslie Christ, her daughter Vickie (Christ) Chisum, and her daughter Colleen (Christ) Hickman.
Clarice’s life will be celebrated at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, at 10AM on October 16, 2026. Internment at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, Oklahoma, immediately following.
