IN LOVING MEMORY

Clara Inez Grimes

Sep 28 1921 - Apr 19 2022

Clara Inez Boydston Grimes was born September 28, 1921 in Grayson County, Texas to Nora and William Boydston. She went to be with her cherished Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 19, 2022 at the remarkable age of 100 years. As a child she and her large family moved to the Carrollton area where she grew up and met her future husband Woodrow Wilson "Jimmy" Grimes. They were married September 2, 1939 and lived in Carrollton and Lewisville before moving to McKinney in 1955. They ran a large old-school farm, raising cotton, maize, corn, and wheat as well as cattle. Jimmy planted, cultivated, and combined the crops while Inez drove the trucks to the grain elevators (barely touching the pedals due to her five-feet height), all while keeping the books and raising four children. It was a home always full of friends, family, and love. Reading was a particular passion of Inez's and she shared and encouraged her family to develop the same love. She was a good and faithful servant as reflected by her lifelong devotion to Christ and love for others.

Inez is survived by her daughters-in-law, Leanne Grimes of Tool and Karann Mason of Lewisville, as well as grandchildren (and their spouses) Tony Sessions and David Villarreal of Houston, Steve and Kay Grimes of McKinney, Lori and Dudley Carico of Colorado, Michael Lee Thomas of Gordonville, Joe and Misty Thomas of Leonard and Jimmy Ray Grimes of Tool, and 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years and veteran of World War II Woodrow Wilson "Jimmy" Grimes. She was also preceded in death by her children Jimmye Inez Grimes Sessions, William Wilson "Bill" Grimes, Wanda Sue Grimes Thomas and Sammy Lee Grimes, as well as grandchildren David Sessions and Christina Thomas Stone.

In lieu of flowers, Inez requested that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation and the American Heart Association.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
