In loving memory of Clara Williams, born on September 14, 1942, in Pelican, Louisiana, to the proud parents Sam J. Brown and Alder Brown. Clara's journey began at All Saints High School in Pelican, Louisiana, where she exhibited unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic while pursuing a major in Business.
In her early twenties, Clara embarked on a new chapter and moved to Monterey, California, where she joined her sister Margie. There, she navigated through various jobs until she pursued a career with the DoubleTree Hotel (Portola Plaza Hotel) Monterey Ca. Here, she served as a PBX Operator where her exceptional work ethic and charm led to her promotion as a Communications Supervisor, earning admiration from all who crossed her path for an illustrious 29 years.
Clara’s spiritual journey was equally profound. She became a cherished member of Greater Victory Temple Church, founded by Pastor S.R. Martin, where she actively participated in multiple ministries, including the children's ministry, the reprographic office, and as a devoted member of both the senior choir and the sanctuary choir board. Clara's melodious voice also graced the renowned "Martineers."
Clara found love in 1966 when she met Elijah Williams. Two blissful years later, they exchanged vows on September 14, 1968. Their union was blessed with a precious gift from God, their beloved daughter, Nicole Sanford, born on June 9, 1970.
In 2008, Clara and Elijah relocated to Texas to be closer to her daughter and family, joining Victory Church under the guidance of Pastor Paul Freeman. Later, they became cherished members of One Community Church in 2014, led by Pastor Conway Edwards. While serving at OCC, Clara actively contributed to The Prayer Team, The Life Group, and the women's ministry until her heavenly call.
Clara Williams is survived by her husband of 55 years, Elder Elijah Williams, her loving daughter, Nicole Sanford and son-in-law Charles Sanford, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Maurice, Terre Sanford and Breanna Sanford. She leaves behind four caring sisters, Margie Simon, Gracie Kelley, Mary Gray, Blondell Cannon, and her brother, Sam Brown Jr. Additionally, Clara is mourned by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
May her legacy of love, dedication, and faithfulness forever be remembered in our hearts.
