Cindy Carroll Frey passed away July 13, 2023 at the age of 92 in Dallas, Texas. She was born September 19, 1930 to James Alexander Free and Fay Ethyl Sanderson in Texarkana, Texas.
She attended Hollins in Virginia and finished her degree at San Diego State where she met the love of her life Frank. They married December 24, 1954 and moved to Ft. Benning Georgia for OCS training. Frank then got stationed in Stuttgart Germany where their children Kimberly and Frank were born. They moved back to the United States in 1958. Frank used his GI Bill to enroll at Texas A&M University where they met their life long best friends, the Wells and Rudderow families. Together they had annual Aggie parties and antics that continued through the 1970s.
They spent 6 years living in Houston where Frank worked for IBM and Cindy raised their children. While Cindy was raising their children, she developed a love for bridge and entertained regularly. They moved to Dallas, Texas in 1969 and settled in Richardson, Texas where Cindy supported Frank and his many business endeavors. When Frank developed his Shaklee Business Cindy ran his office and was at his side whether it was in home meetings, large local meetings, or at one of their annual conferences all around the world. It was here they met their best friends, the Boltinghouse’s. They traveled the world with JoAnn and Earl including riding the Orient Express, visiting Vienna, Switzerland, Paris, London, Hawaii, and many cruises.
Cindy loved her grandchildren and enjoyed hearing about their many accomplishments. After losing Frank in 2008, Cindy then endured several health setbacks. She eventually moved to Crystal Creek at Preston Hollow and the family thanks the many nurses and caregivers that cared for her. Finally, Heart Hospice stepped in 2 years ago. Her primary nurse Jackie helped her transition to her final resting place alongside her beloved Frank.
Cindy is survived by her son, Frank Frey and wife, Susan of Plano, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Frey Smith and husband, George of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Peyton Caroline Marie Smith, Melanie Elizabeth Frey, and Frank E. Frey III (Tripp).
