IN LOVING MEMORY

Christopher Rowland Speer

Oct 22 1968 - Jun 07 2022

Christopher Rowland Speer, 53, of Allen, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 6th. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.  Chris was born on October 22, 1968 in Mineola, Texas.  He attended Mineola High School and later moved to the DFW metroplex where he lived for most of his life.

Chris was a salesman for B.A. Industrial Supply in Plano, Texas for over 25 years and later with Winzer Corporation also in Plano, Texas.  He was dedicated to his work and went above and beyond for his clients, which included Encore Wire Corporation in McKinney, Texas.  Chris loved his job of supplying others with maintenance, repair and operational products and was viewed by his co-workers and clients as honest, reliable and willing to go the extra mile.

In addition to his job, Chris was an avid NASCAR fan and would often spend his Sundays watching his favorite drivers Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon.  He had a love for speed and cherished his Australian-made Pontiac GTO.  Chris also loved to fish and with his bass boat spent many weekends with his son on the lake.  He was also a skilled gardener and successfully harvested from his annual vegetable garden.

He is survived by his son, Dakota Michael Speer of Plano Texas; brother, Tony Speer of Lindale, Texas and wife, Sally and sons, Jordan Speer and fiancé, Landie Urban and Jeremy Speer of Denton, Texas, ; brother, Ron Speer of Flint, Texas and wife, Patricia and son, Zachary Speer and wife, Meredith of Tyler, Texas; sister, Hope Squyres of Plano, Texas and husband, Scott and daughter, Sarah Khromachou and husband, Ali of Celina, Texas; aunts, Dianne Beall of Frisco, Texas and Vasca Beall of Fort Worth, Texas: uncle, James (Jimmy) Speer of Garland, Texas; as well as many cousins and an abundance of friends throughout the DFW metroplex.  We will miss him more than words can say.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Sharon Ondracek (d. 1998) of Balch Springs, Texas and his father, Charles Ronald Speer (d. 2021) of Green Valley, Arizona and both his maternal & paternal grandparents.

A remembrance gathering with family and friends will be held in his honor as opposed to a traditional funeral service. We request all of Chris’ loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating his life at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 6-8pm.
