Christopher Wesley Nelson of McKinney, Texas passed away on September 10, 2016 at the age of 44. He was born on December 21, 1971 to Wesley and Wendy (McCoy) Nelson in Whittier, California. Chris married Yvonne Paz on December 15, 1994 in Peru. He was an Engineer for General Dynamics and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in McKinney, Texas. Chris had a passion for Boy Scouts and mentored them for many years. He enjoyed camping out and supporting his church community and any others that needed his gifts. Chris truly loved his wife and being a father to his sons, Louis and Nicholas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Yvonne Nelson; children, Louis Nelson and Nicholas Nelson all of McKinney, Texas; parents, Wesley and Wendy Nelson of Portland, Oregon; brothers, Chad Nelson and wife, Megan and Corey Nelson all of Washington State; great-grandmother, Shirley Nelson of Maroney, Nevada; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert McCoy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1020 N. Lake Forest Dr., McKinney, Texas 75070. Entombment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening, September 20, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
