Christopher C. Sanguinetti of Plano, Texas passed away December 18, 2019 at the age of 67. He was born on August 4, 1952 to Mario Sanguinetti and Clara (Todesco) Sanguinetti in New York, New York. Chris married Sheryl Marie Mount on August 20, 1977 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geology and geophysics from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Chris earned a second master’s degree in physical therapy from Texas Women’s University in Dallas, Texas. Prior to transferring to the University of New Mexico, Chris attended the University of South Alabama where he played baseball for the first South Alabama sports team to be ranked #1 nationally. In his spare time, Chris enjoyed volunteering as an announcer for the Plano East Boys and Girls Soccer teams. Chris was also a proud member of the “Zebras”, serving as a launch director for many years for the Plano Balloon Festival. In addition to volunteering, he was an avid lover of race cars, sports trivia, Notre Dame football, and all things related to science.
Chris was survived by his wife of 42 years, Sheryl Sanguinetti of Plano, Texas; daughter, Heather Petrie and husband, Jason of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, T.J., Sophia, and Dominic; brother, Marco Sanguinetti and wife, Maria of New Bedford, Massachusetts; best friend of 56 years, Rick Berget and wife, Kim of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nephews, Marc Sanguinetti and wife, Catherine of Worcester, Massachusetts, James Sanguinetti of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Paul Sanguinetti of Los Angeles, California; Stephen Sanguinetti of Japan and Joel Sanguinetti of New Bedford, Massachusetts; great-nieces and nephews, Benjamin, Mia, Evan, and Adam and Rick’s children, Chris Berget, Matthew Berget and Brittany Berget.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Inurnment will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
