Christopher Michael Palmer, aged 46, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22nd of 2023. Chris, as he was lovingly known, touched the lives of many as a beloved son, grandson, nephew, brother, and friend. Chris’ life was filled with passion, resilience, humor, and the ability to bring great joy to those around him.
Born on August 17th, 1977, growing up in Caddo Mills, Texas, Chris embraced life with an unwavering spirit. He graduated high school in 1995 and throughout his formative years, he pursued his love for sports; excelling in football, baseball, basketball, and any other athletic endeavor he could embark upon. His determination and competitive nature were evident on and off the field, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of witnessing his athletic prowess.
Chris' strength transcended the realm of sports. The world may not always have been kind to him, but he faced adversity with incredible resilience. Chris was a fighter and he developed strong, everlasting relationships no matter where his journey took him. He will be remembered for many things, especially for his contagious laughter, his smile, his twinkling eyes, and all of the jokes he told along his way.
Chris will forever be remembered for the joy he brought into our lives, his contagious laughter echoing in our hearts. His quick wit and endless repertoire of jokes brightened the darkest of days and lifted spirits when they needed it most. His mischievous smile and the way his eyes would squint when he made that smile. The way his deep laugh felt like a warm blanket being wrapped around you. How even in the worst of times he kept a sense of humor. How he remembered things that were important to you and made you feel special. He was someone who understood you deeply, shared your joys and sorrows, and stood by you through thick and thin. He was a confidante, a source of support, and someone with whom you could be your true self without judgment. He was a treasure, offering loyalty, laughter, and a genuine connection that transcends time and distance.
As we mourn the loss of Chris, we find solace in knowing that he leaves behind a legacy of love and connection. He is survived by his devoted girlfriend, Kellie Hagan, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His beloved sister, April West, a source of support and great love, will forever cherish the memories they shared. Additionally, Chris leaves behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephew, all of whom were touched by his kindness and vibrant spirit.
Although Chris is no longer with us, he will forever remain in our hearts. We bid farewell to a remarkable soul who now joins his cherished mother, Carolyn Deyoe, and treasured grandmother, Elizabeth Woolverton, in eternal peace. May his memory serve as a reminder to us all to embrace life with the same passion, resilience, and unwavering kindness that defined Christopher Michael Palmer.
