Christopher Brian Hansen (Chris), age 61, passed away August 30, 2024, in Allen, Texas. He was born on August 28, 1963, at Eglin Air Force Base, in Florida, to loving parents Charles Jasper Hansen, Jr. and Marjorie Tindell Hansen. Chris and his family lived on various Air Force bases across the country, until his father retired from the military and the family settled in the Canyon Creek neighborhood of Richardson, Texas.
After graduating from J. J. Pearce High School in 1981, Chris pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, graduating in 1986. His education set him up well for his career as an environmental engineer, and he began his first job working with Foresite Group in Dallas, Texas in 1987. From there, he built a long and successful engineering career working for various energy and natural gas companies in the North Texas region.
Chris had a variety of interests and passions, from golfing and building model airplanes, to cooking and gardening. Many will remember his love for growing exceptionally hot peppers in his backyard garden, which he would transform into a spicy seasoning mix to share with others at the end of the summer. Chris could be counted on to lend a helping hand to a friend or a neighbor in need. Above all, family was very important to him.
Chris is survived by his daughters, Brittany Hansen, of Boston, Massachusetts, twins, Sarah Hansen of Anna, Texas, and Taylor Hansen of Muscatine, Iowa; brother, Charles Gregory Hansen, of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Noah Hansen; former spouse and close friend, Laura Thompson Hansen, of Anna, Texas; and a host of friends, who will miss him dearly and forever cherish memories of his kind and generous spirit.
