Chriselda “Chris” Tamez Morales, a lifelong resident of McKinney, Texas passed away September 26, 2023 at the age of 64. She was born on September 3, 1959 to Rogelio Tamez, Sr. and Maria Tanguma in McKinney. Chris was a 1979 graduate of McKinney High School. She was married to the late, Jose “Chepe” Morales, who passed in 2010, on October 1, 1977 in McKinney. Chris started her working career at the local Safeway followed by 15 years of employment at Dynamco. Thereafter, she was a faithful and dedicated employee of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Ridgeview Florist, and The Twist of Lime for 19 years. Chris was a hard worker who was meticulous with details. She enjoyed being with her coworkers, friends, and family. In her free time, Chris loved having fun during family poker nights and going to the casino. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her main focus was her family. Chris will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Cesar A. Morales and wife, Alma of Princeton, Texas; daughters, Josey Garcia and husband, David and Sarah Morales, all of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Solevar Nunez, Ysiah Morales, Julian Morales, Dawvi Garcia, and David “Trey” Garcia, III; sisters, Janie Perez of McKinney, Texas and Elica McClain of Poteet, Texas; partner, Randy Johnson of Allen, Texas and a host of other loving family members, coworkers, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Rogelio Tamez, Sr.; brothers, Rogelio Tamez, Jr. and Ramon Tamez; and sisters, Isaura Powers, Rosa Maria Tamez and Ana Maria Tamez.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
