Chester "Chet" Paul Tabor

December 15, 1934 - January 3, 2020

Chester “Chet” Paul Tabor, born December 15, 1934, in Chicago Illinois, passed peacefully on Friday January 3, 2020.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia, and their children Susan Chapman, Laura LeFlore, Stephen Tabor and Michael Tabor.  He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren John Leflore, Joseph Chapman, Frankie Leflore, Jack Tabor, Ryan Tabor, Cody Tabor, brother Len Tabor and sister Deloris Dziki.     

A child of Polish immigrants, Chet became the first member of his family to earn a college degree.  He attended DePaul University on a basketball scholarship graduating with a BA in Economics. 

Chet was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed dearly by all.

I went to school with Chet; at Tuley high in Chicago. What a great guy and always cheerful. Go yellow and blue., May 7, 2020 On behalf of DePaul Athletics, I would like to express our condolences. Chet was part of a rich basketball tradition at DePaul, having played for legend Ray Meyer. Always a Blue Demon!
