Cheryl Holloway Fairchild

Cheryl Holloway Fairchild of McKinney, Texas passed away on September 6, 2019 at the age of 70. She was born on October 1, 1948 to Arlta Fay and Joyce (Koock) Holloway in Fredericksburg, Texas. Cheryl graduated from Mason High School in 1966 and then went on to attend Texas Tech University. She married Leon LeRoy Fairchild on January 25, 1975 in Mason, Texas. Cheryl worked in the insurance business for 24 years and was named Life Underwriter of the Year for Great West Life in 1992. She then worked for GTE/Verizon for 23 years. Cheryl also was owner of McKinney Dance Academy.

She is survived by her husband, Leon Fairchild of McKinney, Texas; son, Mitchell Fairchild and wife, Kristine of Frisco, Texas; granddaughter, Brooklyn Fairchild; grandson, Blake Courtney; son, Reed Fairchild and wife, Lisa of Dallas, Texas; Justin and Aisha Johnson and son, Jayden of Houston, Texas; sister, Debra Wenzel and husband, Larry of Boerne, Texas; niece, Taryn Wenzel and nephew, Hunter Wenzel; brother-in-law, Larry Fairchild; nephews, Jason and Kevin Fairchild; niece, Melanie Fairchild Bates; brother-in-law, Karlin Fairchild and wife, Linda; nephew, Geoffrey Fairchild; niece, Brittany Fairchild Haddix; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Arlta and Joyce Holloway.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was loved by all of us from the Class of '67. She was always so kind and caring for others. I always thought her red hair was the most beautiful color I had ever seen.
