Cheryl Lynn Young, age 67, of Frisco, Texas, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born on February 23, 1954, in Upland, California, to Marie Ruthe (Fiene) and Daniel Joseph Young. Raised in Pomona, Cheryl graduated from Pomona High School in 1972. Cheryl was gifted in all things creative: dance, piano, singing, art and as a keyboard player. After attending college, Cheryl began a career as a manual typesetter. Her familiarity with the physical task of setting type plus her expertise with computers eventually combined to make her highly skilled in Pre-press Production, Web Design and as a Graphic Artist. In retirement Cheryl had a successful cat sitting business called Cats in Charge where she was much loved by both her charges and their parents. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her heartbroken family and friends.
Affectionately known as “Dayo” by her family, Cheryl is survived by her mother, Marie “Ruthe” Young; her sister, Carole Carpenter and her husband, Steve; her niece, Caitlin Carpenter and her fiancé, Ian LaFlotte; and her beloved feline fur baby, Quinn, who is being adopted by her niece, Caitlin.
She is preceded in death by her father, Daniel Young.
