Chengim Chia

Chengim Chia of Frisco, Texas passed away on July 20, 2021 at the age of 100.  She was born on December 29, 1920 in China where she lived for 32 years.  While in China, Chengim helped her family around the farm and home and met her husband.  She and her family then moved to Laos. In 1982, Chengim moved to the United States with her children.  Here, she devoted her time to her kids and family.  When she was not actively taking care of her family, Chengim spent her time sewing and making clothes for them.  She loved to sew, crochet, and knit. Chengim created beautiful crafts for her family.  She also enjoyed gardening and cooking.  Her family was well fed and nourished from the fresh vegetables such as squash, green beans, green onions, and many others that she grew in her garden.  Chengim’s favorite past time in her later years was watching historical dramas on TVB, a Chinese television channel.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Chengim is survived by her daughters, Phe Feun Tang and husband, Kimhoua Tang of Liverpool, England, Amy Wong of Frisco, Texas, and Chinhyuinh Miao and husband, Vouyyai of Frisco, Texas; sons, Howard Cheun and wife, Pamela of Atlanta, Georgia and Seng Oeu Tou and wife, Yan Zhuang of Carrollton, Texas; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and numerous other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
