Chelsea Lynn Davis

May 6, 1982 - February 9, 2020

Chelsea Lynn Davis was born May 6, 1982 to Terri and Paul Davis, and was welcomed whole heartedly by her older sister, Heather.  She was a dainty little girl who would never leave the house without perfect hair, purse and jewelry.  Dinner at The Mansion was her favorite family outing and at the age of six she was quick to say she wanted a “Cedes with a phone in it”!

As a young girl her love of tumbling and gymnastics led to competitive cheer in high school and in college, she was a cheerleader at Duke University.  Chelsea combined her love of animals and competition early in life and became an accomplished equestrian riding and showing both Peruvian Paso and Tennessee Walkers, and acquiring many blue ribbons along the way.

Chelsea enjoyed playing golf with her parents and friends, roller coasters and bungee jumping with her little brother Ross, friendly push up and sit up competitions with her nephews and uncle, cards with the family or Rock, Paper, Scissors with anyone who would dare!  She loved adventure, travel and all things outdoors.

She graduated Valedictorian from Trinity Christian Academy, continuing on to Duke University where she earned both Bio-Medical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Degrees, and finished her formal education earning a law degree from Washington University Law School.  Immediately following law school, she passed the patent bar.

Chelsea was the bright light in every room she was present in, showering those around her with her beautiful smile and personality.  She was a loving daughter and sister, a friend to many, but her most cherished role was being an aunt to Christian and Carson.

Chelsea was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on February 9, 2020 and reunited with her brother, Ross Dale and great-grandparents, Oma & Winters Murphey.

She is survived by her parents, Paul Davis and Terri Roberts; sister, Heather Cunningham; brother-in-law, Chad Cunningham and nephews Christian and Carson Cunningham; grandparents, Shelby and Peter Medeguari; sisters, Lori Davis Valle (Jay), Jami Arnst (Ted) and Jana Beth Wilhite (Jason); aunts, Martha Davis Saporito (Mark) and Bessie McAneny (Neil) and a host of cousins and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Entombment is to follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carlotta Baker, February 12, 2020 I’m just so incredibly heartbroken over this. Chelsea was the GREATEST TRUE FRIEND to me in my childhood. I remember traveling everywhere for horse shows with her and her dad, Paul. We spent so many weekends on the golf cart at Paul’s house out in the country, but we also had many memorable sleepovers at the Chalfont Place house. I remember so many sleepovers at her mom’s house as well. We had the kind of friendship where we would fight like sisters but, we always made up quickly because we knew we had more fun if we just agreed to disagree. One time while at a horse show in Marshall, Texas, we even got into a gigantic fight over wether or not you are supposed to wash the conditioner out of your hair! Ha! I remember ending that fight by telling her, “Ya know what Chels, if you like fighting and arguing so much, maybe you should just go become a lawyer!!!” As adults I liked to take a tiny bit of credit for her prestigious career choice. We were so close, heck, we even spent our summers together at Camp Olympia! Chelsea was a loyal, trustworthy, dedicated friend and human being. She was NEVER AFRAID TO BE HERSELF. She never shied away from speaking her truth and she always approached life with fierce dignity and was one Hell of a Texas beauty. Chelsea loved the Lord Jesus Christ and I know that she is up in Heaven cheering, riding horses, smiling that gorgeous smile, arguing with somebody, and dancing with the angels, in perfectly peaceful Chelsea style. To Chels: I love you, my friend and I won’t say goodbye, just I’ll see you again when this journey I’m on has come to an end. Marcy (Coe) Hamlin, February 12, 2020 Our hearts break for your loss.
