Charlotte Viola Probst, age 89, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 9, 2016. Charlotte was born December 27, 1926, in Ballinger, Texas, to Willie G. and Eula Bertha (Golden) Hurt. She married Winifred Probst on May 27, 1944, in Ballinger. Charlotte was the first county auditor for Madison County, Texas and was the proprietor for GP Ceramics Shop in North Zulch, Texas. She was an accomplished artist and loved all kinds of crafts, music, and hobbies. Charlotte was a member of First United Methodist Church in McKinney.
She is survived by her son, Randy Probst and wife, Nancy; daughters, Elaine Key and Brenda Thibeault; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Reba Lancaster, brothers, Clinton Hurt and Malford Hurt, and grandson, Matt Jeffries.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
