IN LOVING MEMORY

Charlotte Marie (Dickens) Crawford

Jul 12 1954 - Nov 30 2022

Charlotte Marie (Dickens) Crawford, 68, passed away on November 30, 2022 in Allen, Texas. She was born on July 12, 1954 to Herman Samuel and Dorothy Joyce (Howard) Dickens in Mobile, Alabama. Charlotte grew up in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from W.P. Davidson High School. She was a member of Phi Gamma Chi and treasured the lifelong friendships that began there. She started her adult career as a property manager in Monroe, Louisiana, where she met her former husband of 33 years, Richard. After moving to Shreveport and later to Richardson, she was an HR director at Dillard’s and then worked for Travelers Insurance for many years. She loved God and was selfless and caring, always putting the needs of her friends and family before her own. She was a devoted mom, Nana, daughter, sister and friend. She was detail-oriented and organized. Charlotte brought levity and laughter to any situation and her creative touch was evident in everything she did. She poured her heart into raising her kids and continued to be a part of their daily lives as adults, but nothing brought her more joy than being a Nana.

The lessons she taught by example will live on through her family and friends forever. We are heartbroken to say goodbye, but we are comforted in the fact that our sweet mom lived a beautiful life and is now resting in Heaven. We love you the most, mom. A bushel, a peck and a hug around the neck.

Charlotte is survived by her mother, Joyce, her children, Miles Crawford, Danielle Crawford Stark and husband Aaron, and her grandchildren, Madelyn and Jacob Stark. She is also survived by her sisters Dianne and husband David, Pamela, Angela, brother Sammy, her former husband Richard, and many loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Charlotte’s wishes were to have her ashes spread on the beach in Alabama, her favorite place. We will be honoring her wishes at a later date.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The service will be livestreamed at https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/charlotte-marie-dickens-crawford.  After the service, the recorded livestream will be available at the same link location.
