Charles "Charlie" Alan Long

Charles (Charlie) Alan Long went home to be with our Lord on July 23, 2020. Charlie was born January 24, 1965 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Marva Long Tucker and Bobby Long. He graduated from Tuloso Midway High School in 1983. Charlie earned a business degree in finance from Stephen F. Austin University. He has a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Houston and a Master in Education from Texas A&M Commerce. Charlie started his professional career building custom homes. He later felt the calling to education where he spent eighteen years teaching construction trades at Princeton High School. He recently became a professor of Construction Management at Collin College. Through the years he inspired many students to pursue a career in the construction trades. Charlie was a loving husband; father, brother, son and friend. He spent many hours coaching youth athletics. He loved spending time with his family and was always available to help anyone in need. He spent many hours repairing his kids’ cars and remodeling his home. Charlie was the rock of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa; his blended family of seven children, Will Skinner, Braeden Skinner, Cailyn Skinner, Sarah Long, Samantha Long, Zachary Long and Jacob Long; parents, Marva and Gerald Tucker, Bobby and Jan Long; his step-sister, Dustie Hill and his step-brother, Jeremy Tucker.

Charlie was preceded in death by his step-sister, Shara Long Carlyle.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Charlie’s obituary page.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of 100 guests will be allowed to attend the Memorial Service.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Charlie and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
