Charles Warren “Doug” Douglas

Charles Warren “Doug” Douglas, a beloved resident of McKinney, Texas, left this world on April 27, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on December 7, 1937, to Charles Burton Douglas and Allie Aletha (Odle) Douglas in McKinney. Charles grew up to be a proud 1956 graduate of McKinney High School and later pursued his education at the University of North Texas in Denton. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force Reserve.

On June 16, 1962, he married the love of his life, Lynda Faye Hackney, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Charles was a man of many talents, owned and operated Doug & Lynda’s Ski Shop. He later owned and operated Hilltop Self Storage, known for his integrity and dedication.

Charles was actively involved in his community, serving as a member of the McKinney Lions Club and Texas Baptist Men. He also served as President of Auctioneer School and was proud to serve as President of the Quarterback Club during McKinney High's one and only 1979 State Championship football season.

A member of First McKinney Baptist Church, Charles also attended Life Church in McKinney, Texas. He embodied the values of kindness and generosity and lived out his faith through service to others. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Though he has left this earthly realm, Charles Warren Douglas will forever remain in the hearts of those who cherish his memory.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lynda Douglas of McKinney, Texas; son, Brad Douglas and wife, Kim; daughter, Becky Edwards Dyke and husband, Robert “Bobby,” all of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Steele Douglas and wife, Keirsten of McKinney, Ellie Douglas, of Dallas, Texas, Hunter Edwards and wife, Molly of McKinney, Texas; Remington Edwards and wife, Reagan of Celeste, Texas, Colton Edward and wife, Alexa of Allen, Texas and Maverick Dyke of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Charles Edwards, Olivia Edwards, and Dean Edwards; brothers-in-law, Truman Tallant and Lyndon Hackey and wife, Dorothy; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Glenda Tallant.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
