During his tenure he completed a $30 million renovation whereby he was awarded the Superior Civilian Service Award and Meritorious Civilian Service Award. These are the first and second highest awards from the Dept. of the Navy. The Chief of Naval Operations bestows them on a civilian who performs supervisory duties in an exemplary manner setting records of achievement while inspiring to improve the quantity and quality of work for others. These contributions must be exceptionally high in value.
