IN LOVING MEMORY

Charles N. Webb

Feb 28 1924 - Aug 08 2022

Charles Nevil Webb, long-time resident of Prosper Texas, was born on February 28, 1924, in Denton, Texas to Charles Henry and Lennie Elizabeth Webb, and went to be with his Lord on August 8, 2022.  He met and married the love of his life, Flossie Mae Cowan on October 23, 1945.  They were married for 52 years until she passed in 1997.

They were proud parents of 3 sons:  Stanley Webb and his wife Terri Lee of Prosper Texas, Danny Webb and his wife Pam of Prosper Texas, and James Webb and his wife Gerry Ann of Melissa Texas.

Charles was “Dad” to 7 grandchildren:  Denny Webb (wife Tori,) April Foley (husband Kevin,) Dusty Webb, Chant Webb (wife Alison,) Wendy Schick (husband Nathan,) Cadi Scott (husband Nick,) and Holly Webb, along with 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Charles served in the United States Army in 1944.  After being honorably discharged, he drove gas trucks in the 40’s.  In the 50’s, he drove trucks for Kimbell Foods, then worked for the Prosper ISD as custodian/bus driver until 1959.  He became assistant manager for Kimbell Milling Company until 1973, then was hired by Mahard Egg Farm where he retired in 2007.  He had a familiar saying to local farmers, “quit bringing me that “chow-chow” (green grain!).

He was always a strong supporter of Prosper High School and said he bled “green.”  Even in his older years, he could be found sitting in the bleachers watching and cheering on the softball and baseball teams.  Baseball was one of his favorite sports.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife Flossie, and four sisters—Evalene, Olivene, Doris and Jeannette.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
