Charles Louis Phillips

Charles “Charlie” Louis Phillips, age 73, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2020 in Frisco, Texas. He was born on February 21, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to Theresia and John Phillips. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1965. He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1969 from the University of Dallas. Charlie married the love of his life, Patricia, in Lake Charles, Louisiana and they were blessed with two children. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 39 years retiring as facilities manager. 

Charlie was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he was involved in ACTS, Kolbe Prison Ministry, and bible study. He also belonged to Frisco Lakes bocce and bowling leagues where he served as the Vice President of the bocce league. 

He put God first and was the most loving husband, awesome Daddy, and sweetest Papa. Charlie was completely devoted to his family and adored by all who spent even a few moments with him. He could talk to anyone and make them feel like somebody. He will always be remembered by his gentle spirit and child-like humor. Charlie was a bright light on this earth that will continue to shine through all those who love him. 

Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Bill Phillips, and his parents, Theresia and John Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Phillips, his daughter, Monica Penkilo and husband Gary of Tyler, his son, Chris Phillips and wife Lindsay of Frisco, his grandchildren, Ava and Anna Penkilo and Hailey, Caden, and Hannah Phillips, his sister Mary Fairchild of Dallas and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75033, beginning at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.

In lieu of flowers, the family feels Charlie would best be honored by a donation in his name to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church - ACTS ministry or have a mass said in remembrance of Charlie at any Catholic Church.
