IN LOVING MEMORY

Charles Edward Fink, Jr.

Jul 18 1942 - Nov 26 2025

Charles Edward Fink, Jr., age 83, passed away November 26, 2025, in Allen, Texas. He was born on July 18, 1942, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, to his loving parents, Charles Edward Fink, Sr. and Virginia (Meredith) Fink.

Chuck graduated from Charleroi High School and went on to attend Washington & Jefferson College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He married the love of his life, Sarah Mason, on August 21, 1965 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania.

Chuck served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea, at Fort Lewis in Washington State, and later served in Vietnam during the war. Upon leaving the service, he achieved his dream job as a management trainee with the New York Central Railroad—an opportunity that allowed him to work closely with trains, something he had loved since childhood. During his time with the railroad, Chuck developed an interest in computer programming, which led to a long and successful career in data processing as a programmer and systems engineer. Over the years, he served with several companies and ultimately retired from EDS.

Chuck was an avid reader, especially fond of history and biographies. He loved model railroading and was a member of the Texas Northern Model Railroad Club. He was also active in the VFW, where he coordinated the collection and proper retirement of American flags. At home, he enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen, with cheesecake being his signature specialty. He loved to travel and took great joy in following his grandsons’ sports activities.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Sarah Fink, of Allen, Texas; daughter, Deborah Hockaday (husband, Stephen) of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; grandsons, Bradley Hockaday of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Gregory Hockaday (wife, Kyra) of Ridgecrest, California; sister, Meredith Cuddy (husband, Russell) of Summerfield, Florida; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly and fondly cherish his memory.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Virginia Fink, and daughter, Rebecca Kaneb.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers or Samaritan’s Purse.
