Charles "Doug" Caldwell

Charles "Doug" Caldwell, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on May 2, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas, Doug was the son of William Perry Caldwell and Lelia Vera (Thurmond) Caldwell. He was a proud graduate of Hereford High School and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army.

Doug earned his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree from the Armed Forces Community College, Electronics School, US Army Missile Command. On February 26, 1977, he married Debbie Landers in Jonestown, Texas. Their union was marked by love and cherished memories throughout their years together.

An avid outdoorsman, Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy life's simple pleasures. His faith in Christianity guided him throughout his life, providing him with strength and purpose.

Doug is remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, adoring grandfather, supportive brother, cherished friend and a true redneck. His presence will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Caldwell of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Christie Prisk and husband, Ricky; grandson, Kevin Prisk, all of Hereford, Texas; son, William “Casey” Caldwell; daughter-in-law, Catherine Reedy; granddaughters, Waverly Woodring, Viola Caldwell, and Penelope Caldwell, all of Deerfield, Illinois; daughter, Randi Thompson and husband, Jon; granddaughter, Bailey Thompson; grandson, Dylan Thompson, all of McKinney, Texas; brother, Tommie Caldwell and wife Kathy; nephews Jared and Aaron, all of Georgetown, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, William Caldwell; mother, Lelia Caldwell; and sister, Roberta Kerns.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will host a remembrance gathering on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
