Charles "Chuck" D. Williams

Charles “Chuck” Denney Williams of Allen, Texas passed away on September 18, 2017 at the age of 81.  He was born on July 1, 1936 to William E. and Leola (Denney) Williams in Clovis, New Mexico. Chuck married Ada Faye Barksdale on December 20, 1958 in McKinney, Texas. He grew up in Bovina, Texas where he graduated from Bovina High School in 1954.  Chuck attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas and then transferred to North Texas State College where he graduated with a bachelor degree in business.  He was a member of the Texas Air National Guard from 1959 to 1965. Chuck had a lifetime career in the banking industry working in Dallas, McKinney, Rockwall and Allen. He served on the Allen ISD School Board from 1981 to 1994. Chuck was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Rotary Club, the Allen Economic Development Corporation and Fairview Economic Development.  He volunteered with the Veterans Center of North Texas and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas. He enjoyed traveling and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Chuck is survived by his daughter, Dawn Horton and husband, Scott of Lucas, Texas; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Horton and William Scott “Will” Horton; sister, Martha Barnett of Dallas, Texas; several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.E. and Leola Williams; his wife, Ada Williams; and his sister Willie Ellen Small.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 601 S. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002.  The family will receive friends during a Remembrance Gathering on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas 75013.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Cal Farley’s Boy Ranch, Allen Community Outreach or Foundation for Allen Schools.
