Charles "Chuck" Brady

Charles “Chuck” Francis Brady, passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas, on Monday, February 13, 2023. Born in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, on January 28, 1947, to Betty (Kessler) and Charles F. Brady Jr. Chuck is survived by his wife, Catherine (Candell), to whom he was the loving and devoted husband for 53 years. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, William C. Brady.

After growing up in various Northeastern states, Chuck moved to Buffalo, New York, and attended Niagara University earning a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Philosophy. He was a career law enforcement agent for 30+ years starting out in U.S. Customs in Buffalo, New York. Chuck later transferred to Baltimore, Maryland, where he ended his career as the Chief of the Port of Baltimore as well as being a founding member of Homeland Security after Sept. 11, 2001. Chuck retired in 2006 to Dallas, Texas.

Chuck proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975. He enjoyed keeping up with current events, watching British crime shows and movies. Chuck married the love of his life, Catherine Candell, in Orchard Park, New York, on April 12, 1969.  They enjoyed 53 years of marriage and were blessed with three children and six grandchildren. Most importantly, Chuck loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was a loyal friend who loved to meet and talk with new people.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Brady of McKinney, Texas; his daughter, Caryn (Brady) Terrell and her husband, John, of McKinney; his sons, Matthew Brady and his wife, Theresa (Galgano) of Eldersburg, Maryland, and Christopher Brady and his wife, Loren (Cioffi) of Brentwood, Tennessee. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jake Terrell, Julia Terrell, Mackenzie Brady, Tyler Brady, Ethan Brady, and Ryan Brady.

Remembrance service will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
