Charles “Charlie” Michael Lawrence, age 65, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on December 2, 2017. Charlie was born March 14, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to Robert Lee and Mazie (Reifschlaeger) Lawrence. He married Julie Lyons on July 20, 1974 in Dallas. Charlie went to be with Jesus after courageously battling congestive heart failure. He looked forward to being in the presence of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He laid down his crowns at the throne of our Lord and is now worshiping at the feet of Jesus.
He is survived by his wife (being together for 45 years), Julie Lawrence of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Michelle Mendez also of McKinney and Rachel Lawrence of Austin, Texas; granddaughters, Haylee Grace Mendez and Meredith Hope Mendez; sister, Anne Bevill and husband, Curtis; and brothers, Mark Lawrence and wife, Denise, Steve Lawrence, and Greg Lawrence, and many much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mazie, and brothers, Dale Lawrence and John Lawrence.
Charlie was a devoted and loving husband and the best Daddy and “Paw-Paw” in the world. He raised two beautiful daughters and has been very involved in helping to raise his two precious grandchildren, who are the apple of his eye. Charlie was a member of Hope Fellowship in Frisco, Texas and loved to serve every Thursday to help set up for the church service every weekend – he was also involved in a life group which he loved and was much loved. Everyone who knew Charlie loved him.
Charlie invited Christ into his life to be His Lord and Savior and was filled with the Holy Spirit in January of 1973. He had a beautiful voice and led worship for many years.
Charlie was an avid golfer. He had enjoyed many years of acting in all the plays at Metro Family Church, and though he loved music, acting was his passion.
