It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” Brown on October 17, 2024, at the Vitas Hospice Center in Carrollton, Texas. He bravely fought a long battle against lung cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease. He passed away peacefully with his devoted wife, Betty, and loving daughter, Kristie, by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Brown and his beloved son, Charles Scott Brown, who left this earth in 2013.
Charlie was a dedicated employee of Texas Instruments, Inc. for 40 years, where he was an electrical engineer playing a crucial role in various high-security government projects in the semi-conductor industry. His commitment to excellence and tireless work ethic significantly contributed to the company's success and innovation. During his time there, he was selected to serve on various community committees and projects with the task of introducing, promoting, aiding, and recruiting underprivileged young adults for the electronics industry. Some of these individuals would then be the recipients of educational support and grants through foundations established by the founders of Texas Instruments, Inc.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Charlie was deeply involved in coaching and managing sports teams for his children. Even after retirement, he continued to share his passion for sports by working in the retail sporting goods business for an additional 18 years.
Charlie and Betty shared a beautiful and enduring marriage lasting 58 years; it was marked by their love for travel and exploration. Their adventures led them to meet many incredible people and create cherished memories from around the world.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Betty, his daughter, Kristie, and his two granddaughters, Jillian and Hillary Brown. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A private entombment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. In honor of Charlie, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
