Mr. Charles Taylor Brown, age 89, of Melissa, Texas passed away February 4, 2009. He was born on July 2, 1919, in Kentucky to Edward Charles and Dora Evelina (Layland) Brown. He married Lilly Marie Evans on May 6, 1937, in Anna, Texas. Mr. Brown was very devoted to his faith and served as a deacon with the Apostolic Church of McKinney. He was known locally as the Vacuum Cleaner Man. He enjoyed going to flea markets and was honored by the McKinney Third Monday Trade Days coordinators with the naming of a street
on the grounds.
Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter, Mary Baxter and husband, Kenneth; sons, Kenneth Ray Brown and wife, Pat, Charles Paul Brown and wife, Elaine, Billy Eugene Brown and wife, Leta, and Johnny Lee Brown and wife, Susan; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Lois Murley of Sherman, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marie Brown.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, February 8, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Mr. Robert MaCauley officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
