Charles Ray Blackstock

November 10, 1935 - June 16, 2013

Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Ray Blackstock, 77 year old Celeste resident, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday June 19, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Celeste. Brother Jim Sherwin and Brother Joe George will officiate. Burial will be in the Celeste/Hogeye Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday June 18, 2013 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Pallbearers will be Brandon Tyner, Brandon Brown, Todd Jones, Colton Ray Blackstock, Todd Phillips, Nicholas Wood, James David Wrinkle and Logan Curtiss. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Plano Fire Department.

Mr. Blackstock was born November 10, 1935 at Weinert, Texas. His parents were Elton Lee and Ada Elizabeth Collins Blackstock. He married Donna Elaine Ward August 27, 1982 at Wylie, Texas. He retired from the Plano Fire Department after 26 years of service.   His church affiliation was with the First Baptist Church of Celeste and he was a member of the Retired Fire Fighters Association. He passed away at his residence in Celeste Sunday June 16, 2013.

He is survived by his wife: Donna Elaine Ward Blackstock of Celeste; his sons: James Ray Blackstock of Celeste, Garry Wayne Blackstock of Commerce and Robert Michael Wood of Rockwall; his daughters: Deanna Carol Tiller and Shari Elaine Curtiss both of Celeste; his 7 grandchildren and his 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, E.L. and Vernon Don Blackstock, a sister, Jessie Lee Bell, a son, Mark Wood, a great-grandson, Calem Williams and a great-granddaughter, Alexandria June Curtiss.
