I was looking for someone else when I stumbled across his memorial. We didn't talk much but saw each other at different Plano Parks activities such as Breakout and Adult Club Night. May God be with the Black family. Matt Yancey, May 13, 2008 My sincerest condolences to Charles' immediate and extended families. I had the pleasure of working with Charles at GARC for 5 1/2 years and I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was a wondeful individual with such a refreshing enthusiasm for his many hobbies ~ I always think of him when watching the Cowboys play at Texas Stadium. My thoughts are with the Black family. Charsy Robinson, May 13, 2008 Dear Mr. & Mrs. Black, Laura, & Jacky, I was so saddened to hear of Alan's passing. What a bright, positive, happy-go-lucky spirit he modeled at the end of your driveway! I will always remember how outgoing he was until I walked up and said hi, and then he would get very shy. He would always talk to me though. He was a reminder of the goodness that God put on earth. He always made others feel special. I am so happy he was given all of you for his family! He was as blessed as you were. He loved you all and I know that you will miss him, but I hope you will be able to find some peace knowing that he is enjoying God's presence and eternal happiness! Charles was always one of my favorite residents of Denton State School. He was colorful, animated and had a heart of gold. There never was a day go by that he wouldn't ask how Ashley was doing. Recently Steve and I moved to Austin, and when I was packing, I found a get well letter Charles wrote to me when I had my surgery many years ago....Both Steve and I have many fond memories of Charles and I can say that heaven is now alive with laughter. May all of you be surrounded with God's love and comfort and know that you are in our thoughts in prayers.
