IN LOVING MEMORY

Charlene Cooper

Oct 12 1932 - Oct 05 2023

Charlene Cooper, age 90, of Fairview, Texas, passed away peacefully into the hands of God with her children by her side on October 5, 2023. She was born on October 12, 1932, in Mouth of Laurel, Kentucky, to her loving parents Glen Carter and Celia Eulett.

Charlene spent her formative years growing up in the picturesque landscapes of Kentucky and Ohio. She graduated from Portsmouth High School in Ohio in 1950 and embarked on a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished moments. She married Paul Ernest Cooper on March 24, 1951 in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Charlene’s identity could be defined in many ways. She was a loving and supportive pastor’s wife. She was an incredible mother to her 5 children and an adoring grandmother and great grandmother. She held multiple jobs and was always a very hard worker. Most of all, however, she was a unwavering servant of God who, despite wavering circumstances, never doubted and always trusted.

Charlene was able to create beauty no matter where she was. Every home she had was warm, inviting and decorated beautifully. She loved to tend to the flowers in her garden. Most of all, she loved to share these homes and beautiful things with her children and grandchildren. She loved hearing the sounds of her children and grandchildren playing and talking in her home.

No matter where she was living, Charlene was always an active member of her church. She taught Sunday School for years and loved to sing in the church choir. For the past 33 years, Charlene has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Allen, Texas.

Charlene is survived by her loving family, daughters, Lutricia Merritt and husband, Gary of Toledo, Ohio, Kathy Franceschina and husband, Rob of Baytown, Texas, Delinda Jo Cooper of South Riding, Virginia, and Rowena Sanders and husband, Chester of Lucas, Texas. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Thomas Keith Merritt, Christopher Merritt, Kassey Maria Carney, Candace Marie Sparrow, Katie Michelle Boychuk, Natalie Marie Miller, Rachel Renee Cooper, and great-grandchildren, Madison Leigh Merritt, Carter James Merritt, Haley Lynn Carney, Ryan J. Carney, Jr., Aubrey Michelle Sparrow, Emily Grace Sparrow, Charlotte Marie Sparrow, Caroline Faith Sparrow, Claire Elizabeth Boychuk, Carter James Boychuk, Cooper Miller, Isaac Maxwell, Noah Maxwell, along with a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ernest Cooper; and son, Paul Edward "Eddie" Cooper.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, 201 E McDermott Drive, Allen, Texas. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
