Charlene Mabel Blackburn, age 77, of Allen, Texas, passed away January 27, 2013, in Richardson, Texas. Charlene was born December 1, 1935, in Borger, Texas, to Charlie and Ruth (Corder) McDougle. She was born and raised in Borger and was the oldest of seven siblings. Charlene married and had two sons. She later married Billy Blackburn, who had three children of his own. Charlene traveled extensively and was a member of First Baptist Church of Allen, Texas.
She is survived by her sons, Neil Blackburn of Allen, Texas, Scott Blackburn and wife, Elaine of Wylie, Texas, and Mark Blackburn and wife Shelli of Austin, Texas; daughters, Laurie Sutherland and husband, Steve of Highland Village, Texas and Cheryl Blackburn of Youngstown, Ohio; brother, J. B. McDougle and wife, Mary Jane of Borger, Texas; sisters, La Joy McDougle, of Borger, Texas, Peggy Hamilton and husband, James of Texas City, Texas, Cloyce Gibbons also of Borger, Beverly Navarette of Amarillo, Texas, and Nancy Arnell of College Station, Texas; and grandchildren, Ruth Blackburn and Molly Blackburn, both of Wylie, Texas, Laura Lee Blackburn, Lindsy Blackburn, and Lily Blackburn, all of Austin, Texas, Arty Blackburn of Sanger, Texas, Hayley Sutherland, Brady Sutherland, of Highland Village, Keith Pugh, and Jonathan Pugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
