Celina Lopez

Jun 02 1942 - Jul 03 2024

Celina Lopez, a cherished mother, wife, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, in McKinney, Texas, at the age of 82. Born on June 2, 1942, in Tampico, Mexico, Celina's life was marked by her unwavering love and dedication to her family and her generous, caring spirit.

Celina's greatest joy in life was her role as a devoted mother and wife. She found immense satisfaction in caring for others, always putting her family first, and nurturing those around her with love and kindness. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort where everyone felt welcomed and cherished.

A talented and passionate crafter, Celina loved crocheting. She created beautiful, intricate pieces, with baby blankets being her specialty. Her handmade creations, made with love and care, brought joy and comfort to many families.

Celina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Lopez, who passed away earlier this year on January 7, 2024. Together, they built a life filled with love, resilience, and unwavering support for their family. Their love story, which began in Tampico in 1960, was a testament to their deep bond and commitment to each other.

Celina is survived by her children, Jesus Lopez and his wife, Susan of Crown Point, Indiana; Joaquín Lopez and his wife, Lili of McKinney, Texas; and David Lopez Jr. and his wife, Laura of Plainfield, Illinois. Her legacy of love and devotion continues through her grandchildren, Regina, Jessica, Parker, Morgan, Lauren, Sidney, and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values and affection she instilled in them.

The viewing will take place on Friday evening, July 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  A rosary service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N Greenville Ave, Allen, Texas 75002. Celina will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and beautiful memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Celina Lopez will be remembered for her generous heart, loving nature, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those she touched. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her beloved David, and may her family find comfort in the enduring love she shared with them.
