Celestine Smith Brown of Arlington, Texas passed away October 15, 2018 at the age of 69. She was born June 30, 1949 to Horace Rhoten and Floyd Bee (Smith) Rhoten in McKinney, Texas. Celestine attended Doty High School in McKinney. She was one of the nine students elected to attend McKinney High School and graduated in the Class of 1968. Celestine continued her education at North Texas State majoring in child psychology. She married Jimmy Brown and to this union two children were born. Celestine was a member of Believers Tabernacle.
She is survived by her son Brandon Brown of Addison, Texas; daughter, Brandi Brown of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Brayon Brown, Bre’Anna Brown, Ky Henry, N’chyra Brown, Ky’Drah Cele Brown, and Kely Love; and sister, Betty Ward of Denton, Texas.
Celestine was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Floyd Rhoten.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
