Cecil Dwayne Vest, age 81, of Celina, Texas passed away in Celina, Texas on November 27, 2021. He was born on June 14, 1940, to Leroy “Bud” and Bessie Lee (Gunkel) Vest in Caddo, Bryan County, Oklahoma. Before his retirement, Cecil was employed as a quality control supervisor in the aircraft industry.

He is survived by his children, Lynnette Cantrell and husband, Orvie, Jr. of Sherman, Texas, Carl Dwayne Vest and wife, Linda of Bells, Texas, Misty Smith of Ft. Worth, Texas, Joshua Dwayne Vest and wife, Jamie of Celina, Texas, and Laramie Dwayne Vest and wife, Christina of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Orvie Cantrell III, Lowell Dwayne Vest and wife, Kayla, Samantha Rae Vest, Massei Smith, Dawson Smith, Rebecca Davis and husband, Juan Ortiz, Hogan Davis and wife, Madison Hipsley, Skylar Dalayne Vest, Dylan Dwayne Vest, and Cayden Dwayne Vest; great-grandchildren, Eliott Dwayne Vest, Emma Rose Vest, Brayden Ortiz, Colt Davis, Hunter Davis, and Lucas Ortiz; brothers, Ocie Vest and wife, Cindy of Runaway Bay, Texas, Bill Vest and wife, Pat of Caney, Oklahoma, Freddy Vest and wife, Debbie of Pilot Point, Texas, Paul Vest of Clarksville, Texas; sisters, Colene Reed of Dallas, Texas, Murlene Clark of Calera, Oklahoma, Emogene Moore of Plano, Texas, Imogene Gibson and husband, Joe of Plano, Texas, Patricia Fraze and husband, Gerald of Calera, Oklahoma, Fayola Reeder and husband, Willie of Cleburne, Texas, Trenna Glasscock and husband Gerald of Wills Point, Texas, Bernice Stubblefield and husband, Joe of Bullard, Texas; sisters-in-law, Tommie Vest (wife of Earnest), Frances Vest (wife of Morris), Cathy Vest (wife of "DD"); and a mighty host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. 

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Bessie Vest; sister, Opal Lee Langham and husband, Doyle; brothers, Haskell Vest and wife, Mary, Earnest Vest, Morris Vest, Glenward "DD" Vest; brothers-in-law, Richard Reed, James Clark, and George William "Bill" Moore; and son-in-law, Richard Smith.

A visitation will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma Street, Celina, Texas 75009, on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at First Celina Baptist Church, 841 North Preston Road, Celina, Texas 75009, on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. with Delbert Vest and Dennis Vest officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery, 11400 FM 2478, Celina, Texas 75009.
