Kathy Dickerson, loving wife and mother, born August 17, 1952 to Mildred and Warren Smith, passed quietly from this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday June 22, 2015.
She attended school in Allen and McKinney where she spent most of her life, except for a short time when she moved to Abilene to be with her husband Richard who was stationed there with the Air Force. Kathy was an extremely dedicated individual and worked tirelessly to provide for her family’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Always active in the church, she spread her joy and love to everyone she touched, but especially to the many children she taught and helped lead to Christ. Kathy spent every free moment she could with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Dickerson; her brother, Michael Lynn Smith both of McKinney; son, David Dickerson and wife Ann; daughter, Wendy Karr and husband Arden; grandchildren, Aaron, Alex, Elizabeth, Miranda, Preston and Joseph all of Little Elm; nephews, Kevin Quick, Mike Jennings and Clay Dickerson; nieces, Leslie Quick, Christine Jennings, Tammie Smith-Scarborough, Christina Lucas, Sherri Jenkins and Cindy Smith.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Warren and Mildred Smith and sisters, Patricia Lucas and Linda Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas.
