Catherine Ann McPeak was born on May 19, 1941 in McKinney, Texas and passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Ann was a lifelong resident of McKinney and Collin County. In her later years she lived in Colleyville with her daughter and son-in-law.
She graduated from McKinney High School and earned a BA in mathematics from North Texas State University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Ann was an accomplished professional, enjoying a long and successful career at Texas Instruments. She began there as a Computer Programmer and advanced to the position of Corporate Controller, becoming the first female to hold that position at the company.
Beyond her professional life, Ann was an avid bridge player, achieving the esteemed rank of Bronze Life Master. She competed in and won major tournaments across the country, where her strategic mind and competitive spirit shone brightly. Her enthusiasm for travel, as she explored both U.S. destinations and international locales, created memories that would last a lifetime. Spending time with her great-grandchildren, from playing board games to attending their many sporting events, was one of her greatest joys.
Ann will be remembered for her wit, love of family, kindness, and vibrant spirit. Her family and friends will continue to honor her memory by carrying forward the values she instilled in those she loved.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Kim (Jeff) Gilstrap of Colleyville; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Lauren) Gilstrap of Southlake and Jonathan (Regan) Gilstrap of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Henry, Reese, James, and Sydney Gilstrap; and sister, Bernice Fraze Minch of Allen. Each of them held a special place in her heart and she took great joy in sharing her life and experiences with them.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, R.A. and Hattie McPeak; sister, Pauline Pingleton; brother, Bobby McPeak; and nephew, Bobby Glenn McPeak.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
