Carrie lived with her parents at Lookeba, OK until February 1974 when they moved as a family to Wetumka, OK. Her brother, Chad was born in 1975 making their family complete. She was a 1987 graduate of Wetumka High School and an active member of the Wetumka Living Water Church. Carrie attended OCU in Oklahoma City majoring in Psychology.

On August 18, 2016 Carrie married Dominic Stroud in Pebble Beach, California. It was a fairy tale wedding as the small cadre of friends enjoyed the ocean crashing beneath them at the foot of the world famous lone Cypress tiny island outcropping. This was the beginning of a fabulous new phase of Carrie’s life.

Carrie enjoyed being a home maker, entertaining both for her husband’s business and their many friends. Loving to cook, often her guests would join her around the kitchen bar and visit while she prepared dinner for them. People of all ages enjoyed being in her home and considered Carrie a joyous hostess, often speaking of her contagious laugh. That laugh will forever be her legacy; it was infectious and unbelievably genuine. She literally lit up the room everywhere she went, making friends easily, each and every time.

A highlight of her life was traveling with her husband, Dom. They enjoyed trips to France, Italy, England, Germany, several USA cities and tropical trips to South America and Mexico.

The true joy in her life were her two children, son Ross Tribble Burrus and Taylor Renee Burrus. She loved being a mother to her children and being with them. During their childhood she was very much involved in whatever activity they were participating in at that time, always volunteering to drive the team around and cooking for the group afterwards at her home. She is, to this day, still referred to as “Momma” by all of Taylor’s friends.

Carrie has three English Bulldogs, Lola, Daisy and Lulu. Carrie spent a lot of her time in taking care of them she loved them dearly.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alvin and Mhadeen Ross, of Lookeba, OK and maternal grandparents, Ogland and Kathryn Barger, of Wetumka, OK.

Survivors include her husband, Dom Stroud, of the Home, one son, Ross Burrus, Lewisville, TX, one daughter, Taylor Burrus, Frisco, TX, her parents, Dale and Renee Ross, Mustang, OK, one brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Jolinda Ross and their children, Carter, Cooper and Lillie. Numerous extended family and friends.

Carrie will be missed eternally by one and all!
